Interested on US$30 or US$27 a page translations? Read on

We are quite aware that a few of of our competitors are advertising translations for US$27 and US$30 a page. Some matters should be considered before you entertain the validity of such offers. One would assume that translations for US$30 a page mean that every page would be charged this amount, irrespective of word count. At least, one implies that from such ads. The reality is quite the other. All such sites impose a condition - the low price applies to documents that are 250 words or less. That would mean very short documents, such as a birth certificate, a drivers license etc. That is not what their ads say, or the landing pages of some sites. Their intent is to get you on their page, and then flip flop on you. Many birth certificates have more than 250 words, and some of then have less than 250 words, but two pages! For the 2 pager with less than 250 words, the company would then charge you US$60.00! That is, more than we charge. Not only that, some companies charge an additi

Certified translation of documents for Investor visas

A good number of foreign individuals is taking advantage of the offer of investor visas, for residence in the USA. Such visas do require the investment of a sizable amount of money in a USA business. Those interested are advise to seek an immigration attorney, who will provide guidance concerning the law, and the procedures to be followed, in addition to expected timelines. A large number of documents may be required in support of an investor visa application. If such documents are in a foreign language, then a certified translation by Legal Translation Systems, or your vendor of choice, might be necessary. Some bank statements can be summarized. We will provide currency con

Certified translation of handwritten documents

Although rare, every once in a while we are required to provide certified translations of handwritten documents, which can be a challenge. Among the handwritten documents are birth, marriage and death certificates, medical reports, medical prescriptions, hospital records, personal letters, and even Court rulings. If you do have a handwritten document that you require translation, we ask that you submit the original document, plus the typed text of the document in the original language. This will be compared to the original document, and the translation based on the two documents. If you are unable to read the original document, illegible portions will be referred as "illegible" on the translation. Confidentiality

At Legal Translation Systems the confidentiality of your documents is of utmost importance to us. That is why we offer a limited array of services, for almost 100% of the work we do is done in-house. This means that your important documentation is not being forwarded to a translator who resides in a country where secrecy laws might not be as strict as the U.S.. Most of the agencies you find on the internet use this method to translate documents. In the unlikely event we use an external translator to translate your document, you will be informed, prior to contracting the work to us. http://www.legaltranslationsystems.com

Translation of notarial stamps

In certain countries, notaries do notarize documents written in English. However, the notarial stamp (and other registrations, which vary, from country to country)is written in the country's language. While some U.S. agencies are flexible, and accept the stamp in the foreign language, others require the translation of the notarial stamp, especially if the document is a power of attorney, or other documents that result in the transfer of ownership of property. We translate notarial stamps from French, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, Italian, German, Dutch and Romenian. http://www.legaltranslationsystems.com

Legal translation templates

We are aware that a number of translation companies that advertise services on the internet use so called translation templates or summary translations to provide inexpensive services to clients eager to save some money. Before you decide to go that route, you should be aware that in many instances the people putting together these translations are not professional translators, and might actually miss out on very important information contained in the document. Very often this causes problems for clients, especially in Immigration Proceedings, for the documentation is often analyzed by officials that know the language. Thus an inexpensive "deal" can become a costly problem. At Legal Translation Systems we do not provide summary translations of personal identification documents, neither do we use templates. Every word on the document and stamp on the document is considered, to ensure you have no problems with the Immigration Department (Department of Homeland Security

What is a word by word translation?

International students are required to provide translated academic documents, when these are not in English. Often the requirement states that the translation must be done "word by word". The reason for the requirement is that translations cannot be interpretative, they must not attempt to interpret the academic equivalence of the document to the American system. Grades, credits and averages must be stated as provided in the original document. If the American counterpart requires an academic equivalency, the original document PLUS the translated document prepared by Legal Translation Systems must be submitted to the Academic Equivalency agency. They will then prepare an interpretative report. A few universities and schools do not require academic equivalencies. Legal Translation Systems does word per word translations of academic documents from the following countries: Brazil, Canada, Portugal, Haiti, Angola, Mozambique, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Monaco, San Ma

What is a certified translation

A certified translation in the United States is a translation that is prepared by a competent translator, accompanied by a document called an affidavit of accuracy. An affidavit of accuracy is a notarized statement whereby the competent translator assumes responsibility for the content of the translation (not the authenticity of the original, by the way). This affidavit of accuracy should be prepared in the translation company's letterhead. Additionally, the translation cannot be prepared by the notary him(herself). This will result in the rejection of the translation. Legal Translation Systems meets and exceeds these standards. In addition to providing the notarized affidavit of accuracy, since June of 2010 the authenticity of our affidavits can be verified on the internet by thde recipient authority. our translations also come with a seal. Our affidavits are also numbered. http://www.legaltranslationsystems.com
